Hi, loves! I’m so excited to share another beautiful session with this family. If you’ve been following along for a bit, then you might recognize them from THIS session and THIS session. We have had at least two more sessions that I haven’t blogged yet! But I just had to share their most recent in-home session and the beautiful words A (the loving momma of the family) said that lead me to happy and oh-so-grateful tears.

“I wanted to let you know tonight that not only are your photos my ONLY valuable possession and most sacred and cherished gift, but when N sees the slide show the first time, it’s always so incredible. Now that he’s older, today had me melting in new ways and crying again. When I showed him, at one point, he looks up and gives me the sweetest kiss while wearing a big smile and at another point, he squeals and gasps and reaches up for me and says ‘mommy I love you’! May I remember that moment forever. Thank you, Cilla.

You inspire me so much Cilla. You even inspire me to love. Thank you.” -A

Somehow, in one text, she captured so much of what I want from photography. I mean…who wouldn’t be in tears after that!?!

The truth is, most of every session we have together is what I would consider magical. Not perfect. Perfectly imperfect and beautiful and messy and wild and fun and absolutely bursting with love. Not because of me. Because of them. I want to be your mirror to all that love y’all got going on there. And they allow me to do that by loving on each other. Now, J (the loving Poppa of the family), likes to keep me honest and steer me away from that “cheesy sh..”. You’ll see, it’s typically the “in-between” moments I share. I love getting my families in a spot and letting them just be after that. One of my favorite photographers calls this “fall-apart posing” and I think that’s the perfect way to describe it. I’m not going for the perfect pose. We are going for what the pose turns into. Because their family loves so big and they allow me to be a mirror to that, we are able to create this together. I do not take for granted what an absolute gift and honor it is to be allowed into their lives. Maybe…just maybe…I’m getting a little weepy now just writing this. I said this a long long time ago about another family of mine and I mean it for most all of my families, this is where I see and feel God. I feel in the flow and connected when I get to witness all that love-filled, magical, chaos.
