No one told me how incredibly rewarding it is to make your baby laugh. I’m totally addicted to his giggle and toothless grin. He’s been teething for a while now, so I know it will soon be a toothy grin and I’ll love it just as much then as I do now. Every morning when I go in to get him (after hearing coo’s and giggles in the monitor), he greets me with this smile. I’ll sing our good morning song. He laughs and tries to let his eyes adjust to the light. He’s so excited to see me and I’m so excited to see my happy baby. I change his diaper and continue singing. He continues to laugh and act like I’m the coolest thing ever. This is a benefit to me working from home most days. We get to take our time in the mornings and not rush around. It’s our magical time of the day…even when it’s 5:30. Maybe a little less than if it were 6:30, but still magical.
Well, this is obviously not from our morning, but when I think about this smile, I think about our mornings. Now, this picture was taken just before we left to go out to eat. We haven’t been out of the house a lot lately and he loves being out and about. This is one of maybe two times he’s ever had a collar on. Oh…my…doesn’t he look like a big boy?
