central ky family photographer
In an effort to share some of my favorite sessions that have yet to be blogged and get us in the mood for fall, I am going to mix some fall sessions into some of my more recent summer session posts. I mean…can’t you just feel the chill in the air and smell the pumpkin spice? No? Just me?
It’s kinda the most perfect scenario for me…hanging out in a field with dear friends, at sunset, with my camera. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if we shot for even longer and captured inside their home (but we have done that before too). Y’all, this shows that you truly don’t need much for a love filled family session. You just need to show up willing to love on each other. Add in golden sunset light and a field of some sort…even better. In between saying “cuddle up”, you could hear me say “watch out for that cow poo”. And it was perfect. Well…perfectly imperfect…just as it should be.
This is a family that is so close to my heart. I’ve been photographing them since the beginning of my business. Momma has worked with my husband since we moved here. I photographed D’s pregnant belly as she awaited her very first birth. I got to come into their home the first two weeks after both babies were born. And I’ve had the honor of watching them grow through the years. Steff and their youngest, SB, have been friends since he was born and went to the same babysitter. They were even the cute little homecoming prince and princess a couple years ago. D came and spent the night with us when I was so worried and stressed from breastfeeding during those first few weeks after Steff was born and basically saved me. She also made us leave on our very first date after Steff was born. Steff has looked up to their oldest, P, since he was born. We have pictures of our babies together throughout the years and it makes me so happy to look back on them. C (Dad) is one of the friendliest and kindest people I know. And look how loving they all are with each other. That’s what makes me the happiest. Look how much they love. They love in such a pure true way. Each person is seen and loved and appreciated just as they are. We were all laughing the entire time at SB and her silly joyful heart. And observing how P loved so sweetly just absolutely melted me. Watching the way he looked at every single person in his family was…well…beautiful. I nearly cried seeing how much he loves his momma and admires his daddy and enjoys his baby sister. I would take brief moments to just stop and watch. I don’t know if they see it in the rush of every day life, but they are all doing such a good job loving each other and it shows.
I had to share these next few. Bret had to bring me money for gas because I forgot my wallet. So our babies got a chance to visit for a few minutes. Look how happy Steff was about taking a picture with a girl. I was cracking up. Look at them!
So much love,
Cilla
