family session at keeneland in lexington ky

As the golden light fell on us in the middle of the rolling hills of Keenelad, on all our giggles and all their cuddles, I knew, for sure, this family session happened exactly when it was meant to. After rescheduling at least four times (I really lost count), I knew this session was going to be pure magic. I don’t know what it is, but every time I have to reschedule a session due to weather, sickness, or anything else, I always tell myself the session is going to happen exactly when it’s meant to. And when it comes down to rescheduling several times, I know it is going to be something amazing. It just always feels that way. It certainly did with this session.

I watched as they loved each other deeply and purely with so many cuddles, tickles, giggles, kisses, and playing, with the setting sun behind them, my heart melted. I was reminded of what I am often reminded of…this is where I see the love of God…in their faces, in their joy, in their love. As brother and sister snuggled and laughed, I turned behind me to see Mom and Dad snuggled up and watching with so much unconditional love. No stress or worries were present on their face. All five of us were just having fun. As we were nearing the end of the session and walking to our last little spot to capture that beautiful sunset silhouette shot I always adore, I turned to see the oldest whispering into his Daddy’s ear. Later Daddy shared with us that sweet D was saying that this was so much more fun than he thought it would be. My heart nearly exploded.
